Resources

In this section, I am sharing books, websites and other resources that I have found interesting, useful or helpful. I do not receive any kind of payment for including any of these resources on my blog, and other websites, blogs and writers’ views do not necessarily represent my partial or full beliefs, viewpoints, experiences, etc. They are just things I’ve come across along my journey and they might be useful to you. Most of my book links to go Amazon, because I frequently use a Kindle reader and buy e-books.

I will add to this section on a regular basis.

Topic: Near Death Experience

Books about the near death experience, known as an NDE, are to me the most interesting spirituality books out there. I believe that NDEs strongly support the case for consciousness not being a byproduct of our brains.

The Big Book of Near Death Experiences: The Ultimate Guide to the NDE and its Aftereffects, by P.M.H. Atwater. This is my favorite of the many NDE books I have read. The author experienced three NDEs herself and has been conducting research ever since. This book describes key aspects of NDEs, but more compelling to me are all of the aftereffects. She also reviews some of the skeptics’ arguments, countering them with her years of research and personal experience.

Surviving Death: A Journalist Investigates Evidence For An Afterlife, by Leslie Kean. I really enjoyed this book. The author approaches the topic with an open mind and writes about some interesting occurrences that led me to additional books. In the end, she finds that there are phenomena that we can’t explain with the scientific model.

God and the Afterlife: The Groundbreaking New Evidence for God and Near-Death Experience, by Jeffrey Long, M.D. Interesting book by an initially skeptical doctor who went on to study NDEs and create the Near-Death Experience Research Foundation website. It’s the largest website of its kind in the world, where you can spend hours reading about people’s NDEs
